ABOUT THIS VISA

What the Visitor Visa Subclass 600 Covers

Sponsored Family Stream

For individuals visiting an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen who sponsors them. The sponsor may be required to sign an assurance of support.

WHY WORK WITH US

Tourist Visas Are Refused More Often Than You Think

Tourist Visas Are Refused More Often Than You Think Many visitors assume tourist visas are straightforward. In some cases they are. But refusal rates are higher than most people expect, particularly for applicants from countries with historically high visa overstay rates, or for those with previous Australian visa history.
A tourist visa refusal creates a record in the Department of Home Affairs system that can affect all future visa applications including student, skilled, and partner visas.

Career Launchers helps by:

  • Assessing your eligibility and refusal risk before application
  • Preparing a strong supporting document bundle
  • Drafting a clear, credible cover letter if required
  • Identifying and addressing any red flags in your history before lodgement
  • Lodging the application correctly and monitoring progress

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

The standard tourist visa allows a stay of up to 3 months per entry, though some applicants can request up to 12 months. The duration granted is at the discretion of the case officer based on your individual circumstances, purpose of visit, and ties to your home country.

In some circumstances, yes. You can apply for a new visitor visa while in Australia before your current visa expires. However, approval is not guaranteed and you must continue to demonstrate genuine temporary entry intent. Career Launchers can assist with extension applications.

You can undertake short courses of generally up to 3 months on a Tourist Visa. However, for any registered full-time course lasting longer than 3 months you will need a Student Visa. We can advise on whether your intended course is permissible under tourist visa conditions.

No. A Visitor Visa Subclass 600 does not permit you to work for an Australian employer. If you plan to work in Australia, you will need an appropriate work visa such as a Working Holiday Visa, Temporary Skill Shortage Visa, or a skilled migration pathway.

Tourist visa refusals can sometimes be reviewed by the Administrative Review Tribunal depending on the grounds of refusal. In other cases, a new application with stronger supporting evidence is more appropriate. Career Launchers reviews your refusal letter and advises on the best course of action.
